LINX helps ITU Search and Rescue Club

The ITU Search and Rescue Club (ITU AKK) was established in 2022 with the aim of creating disaster awareness and intervention protocols for emergencies, especially within their university.

However, they were facing major challenges in communication and coordination during search and rescue operations. American International Radio (AIR) introduced them to the LINX platform by SafeMobile, which consolidates push-to-talk communication over cellular and wi-fi networks with tracking and safety technologies into one, easy-to-use solution.

AIR organized a training for ITU AKK and provided them with Talkpod N56 PTT devices with LINX software installed. The solution supports multiple PTT devices running Android OS, as well as smartphones running Android OS and iOS.

In February 2023, when a terrible earthquake of 7.8 Mw magnitude struck southern and central regions of Turkey, ITU AKK was ready to participate in search and rescue  operations in the region. They used the LINX solution to communicate and coordinate logistics and team chiefs with each other from their base area around Gendarmerie Provincial Command and the 53rd Regional Chief of Highways in Hatay/Antakya region of Turkey.

Thanks to LINX, ITU AKK was able to communicate effectively and efficiently, ensuring smooth coordination and quick response times during the crisis. This led to successful search and rescue operations, and ITU AKK was praised for their efforts.

The LINX solution proved to be a valuable asset for ITU AKK, providing them with reliable and instant talk and track capabilities during a large scale disaster.
