LUKOIL IMPROVES SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY BY IMPLEMENTING SINGLE-SITE DIGITAL TRUNKING SYSTEM IN BULGARIAN OIL PORT TERMINAL.
SINGLE-SITE DIGITAL TRUNKING SYSTEM CONNECTS THE LUKOIL NEFTOCHIM BURGAS OIL PORT TERMINAL
Lukoil, one of the largest oil producers in the world has successfully implemented a DMR Single-Site Trunking System to improve communication between various production units, right from extraction to the finalization of the finished product. American International Radio (AIR), a leading communication solutions provider together with its strong local partner Komtek 2006 Ltd. have successfully implemented a Single-Site Digital Trunking System for Lukoil, the Russian based petrochemical giant.
Komtek 2006 Ltd. had won the tender in 2010 for the project which involved creating a communication backbone between various production units at Lukoil Neftochim Burgas, an oil terminal in Bulgaria. The biggest challenge was the safety of the staff and equipment considering the hazardous environment in which the project had to be implemented.
The 6 channel capacity built system is capable of supporting 14 groups with 10 to 15 subscribers and has a voice recording system. Two of the engineers involved had attended a DMR Technical training course organized by AIR in Berlin in 2012.
“We chose to work with Komtek 2006 Ltd. and AIR for their excellent technical support. Everything was done as promised and on time.”

EXPAND THE CAPACITY OF YOUR DMR COMMUNICATION WITH SINGLE-SITE DIGITAL TRUNKING SYSTEM
The implementation of the project involved careful planning by the engineering team who worked alongside the team from Lukoil. The first step involved the verification of radio coverage and identifying a place to build the new system. Once this was done, the team worked on the design, supply and installation of the components of the system. Specifications of the working groups, subscriber and programming were decided in the next stage. The final step involved commissioning and testing.
According to Mr. Ivan Dimitrov, head of Telecommunications department of Lukoil-Neftochim Lukoil’s partnership with Komtek 2006 Ltd. and AIR has been one that has evolved from an external vendor to a trusted partner.
