Built to IP54 protection means that not only does the radio have a limited Ingress protection against dust, it is also safeguarded against splashes of water from all angles. Being built to military specification (MIL-STD-810 C/D/E/F/G) means that the TK-7180 is fit for a variety of differing weather conditions, continuing to operate seamlessly from -30°C through to 60°C. Other features that the radio holds include enhanced Kenwood audio, this helping to provide crisp and clear audio for better communications.

A Lone Worker function is present on the radio helping to reassure the safety of users. Monitoring activity levels of the radio over a pre-set period of time, should the radio be inactive for this time period then a beep will sound, if still unresponsive then an alert will be sent to either a base station or other radios within the fleet alerting them of the potential emergency situation. The TK-7180 boasts an extra-large channel capacity, with 512 channels this allows for expansion of the communication network alongside the growth of the business.
