With new software (R9.0): As a result of legal patent litigations, the TDMA direct mode was removed for digital operation. With the Hytera patented Pseudo Trunking two parallel calls in direct mode are still possible.

Features
Improved utilization of the frequency spectrum
Thanks to the TDMA process, the PD505 enables you to assign the available bandwidth with double the number of channels. This has a clear mitigating effect on the increasing spectrum scarcity encountered when using DMR radio systems.
Ergonomic design
The PD505 handheld radio is easy to operate and highly reliable, which is indispensable in critical situations.
Individual button design
The two rotary buttons of the radio transceiver are separated by the antenna. This design prevents operating errors.
Light and easy to operate
The radios of the PD5 series are particularly ergonomic and easy to operate. With a weight of only 260 g (PD505) or 280 g (PD565), the PD5 series offers a high level of mobility comfort.
Long battery service life
The lithium-ion battery (1500 mAh) in digital mode reaches an operating period of at least 16 hours (duty cycle 5-5-90). With the optionally available 2000-mAh battery, it will even be 20 hours.
Support of analog and digital mobile radio
The PD5 series was developed in compliance with the ETSI mobile radio standard Digital Mobile Radio (DMR). The handheld radios support the conventional DMR mode and can also be operated in manual mode. Moreover, the radios support Hytera XPT radio systems. That makes the terminals of the PD5 series the ideal companion for the move to digital mobile radio.
Upgradeable firmware
The upgradable firmware makes it possible to add new features. By altering the firmware-software, other digital and analog operating modes can be enabled, without the need for purchasing a new radio device.
