Features

Software-defined architecture
The Barrett 4050's software-defined architecture offers complete control of RF modulation and bandwidth for ultimate flexibility and reliability. Enable custom emissions and filter bandwidths up to 24 kHz with a simple swipe of the touchscreen.

IP network connectivity
The 4050’s control head features a wireless access point, letting mobile devices and PCs connect directly via Wi-Fi. For additional IP configurations, the 4050ip variant provides reliable Ethernet connectivity through a standard RJ45 socket on the rear panel.

Encrypted communications
Secure Digital Voice provides encrypted communications. Choose between a non-export-controlled DES-56 vocoder or an export-controlled AES-256 vocoder. Optional FIPS 140-3 Level 3 validated AES-256 encryption helps protect keys from digital and physical tampering.

Enhanced DSP noise reduction
The digital signal processor (DSP) provides clear intelligible voice communications on analogue circuits through the digital removal of background noise and radio interference.

Frequency hopping
The frequency hopping option requires no central sync station, handshaking or entry delays. With rates of 5, 15 or 25 hops per second, it supports extended field use without resynchronization. Note: This feature is subject to export controls.
